1915…"THE DOCTOR GIGGIU"

In 1915…the Doctor Giggiu, the one and only doctor in Vallelunga, while planting trees on Tanarizzi Hill, discovered a tomb of 1800 b.c. The tomb was full of broken vases which he sent to Paolo Orsi, a famous archeologist, working in Siracusa.

The pieces where restored and placed in a show case in the most beautiful archeological museum in Siracusa, where you can admire them.

1915-2002...today 2007

Since that time the land was abandoned until Rosemarie Tasca d’Almerita , in 2002, brought it back to life after buying this romantic corner of Sicily, where she created, in 2007 a microcosm of peace and happiness.
